Notes: May 24th, 1887; Victoria Day Parade of the 21st Essex Battalion Of Infantry (founded 1885). They were renamed the 21st Battalion, Essex Fusiliers in 1887, and are now known as the Essex & Kent Scottish Regiment; the photograph is taken at the intersection of Sandwich Street (now Riverside Drive) and Ouellette Avenue; the tallest building is the Windsor Opera House; the department store, Cameron And Bartlet (has changed names a number of times), is also visible. |
