Harwood Ontario Osborne Fleming was born November 15th 1862 in Milton, Ontario. He came to Essex County with his family about 1867. He married Janet Graham Campbell on February 12th, 1896. They had 5 children. He built the Fleming Block (later the Victoria Block) on the southwest corner of Ouellette Avenue and Chatham Street West in 1893. From here he operated his drugstore. He moved to California in 1910 and died June 2nd 1937.
