"Alexander Bartlet, son of Alexander Bartlet and Mary Redford in Mains of Forgue, was born 31st December 1822, and baptized 8th January 1823. Witnesses: James Redford and Robert Cruikshank. Extracted from the register of Baptisms of the parish of Forgue this 3rd day of August 1841 by Geo. Webster, [illegible] Clerk."; this was probably written just before he sailed to Canada. |
