Notes: Postmarked 1939; Briggs Stadium was a baseball park located in the Corktown area of Detroit Michigan (now 2121 Trumbull Avenue); known by different names at different times: Bennett Park (1895-1912), Navin Field (1912-1937), Briggs Stadium (1938-1960) and Tiger Stadium (1960-1999); it hosted Detroit Tiger Major League Baseball games 1912-1999 and Detroit Lion National Football League games 1938-1974; the stadium was demolished in 2009, though volunteers have restored and maintained the original playing field; addressed to Miss Portia Smith. |
