Notes: Photograph taken October, 1931; Lemuel Dexter Galloway ("Dex") was a master carpenter and building contractor in Walkerville. He was born c.1868 in Minnesota, came to Walkerville around 1908, and died January 13th, 1932. He was deaf. His family lived at 1333 Windemere Road (old numbering: 170, then 357 Windemere Road). He built a lot of South Walkerville, including many of the houses on Windemere Road, King George School, the Walkerville Bell Telephone Building, and the Walker Farms workers' houses. |
