Postmarked 1913; Dougall Avenue Public School was built in 1904 and originally had 12 rooms; the first principal was D. M. Eagle; during the early 1900s, many African Canadian students were enrolled at this school and some African Canadian teachers started their teaching careers here; located at 811 Dougall Avenue, the original building was torn down in 1990 and the present building was opened in 1992; the postcard is addressed to Mrs. Cora Wallace; a house on the northwest corner of Dougall Avenue and Elliott Street can be seen.
