Metropolitan General Hospital is located at 1995 Lens Avenue; it opened in 1928 as an acute care hospital; in 1974, an eight-story expansion added an additional 500 beds; in 2005, another expansion added 420,000 square feet of new and renovated space; it is now part of the Windsor Regional Hospital.
