Notes: c. 1923; Walkerville Collegiate Institute opened in September 1922 with 22 classrooms, a library, pool, auditorium, and areas for manual training (boys) and cooking and sewing (girls); there were 195 students and 10 staff; it was named after Hiram Walker, founder of the Hiram Walker and Sons Ltd. distillery; it is located at 2100 Richmond Street, near the southeast corner of Willistead Park. |
