Notes: 4100 Sandwich Street West was the Hydro Electric Power Commission of Ontario; 4140 was the Canadian Comstock Company (area office, hydro conversion). In the distance, on the north side, at 4280 Sandwich Street West, is the Westwood Hotel (aka the Westwood Tavern). During Prohibition, it was one of many blind pigs in the area. It burned to the ground in 2003. On the south side, the British American Oil Company is visible at 4027 Sandwich Street West, and also the Shell Oil Company of Canada at 4059 Sandwich Street West. |
