Notes: Postmarked 1960; "This is an aerial view of the Township of Sandwich West Industrial Park with Windsor and Detroit in the background. The first plant to locate was International Tools Ltd. A plant is being erected for Robotron Inc. and another is planned for Sherman Laboratories. Services include electricity, water, natural gas, paved roads, and storm sewers. The Sandwich West Industrial Park is on a four lane highway within a mile of Detroit via the Ambassador Bridge and only minutes from downtown Windsor." This postcard was used by the Greater Windsor Industrial Commission to encourage interest in the area. This particular card was sent to F. W. Freel, the president of Servall Truck And Tractor Equipment Company in Windsor, Ontario; the road running towards the bridge is Huron Church Road; the road running parallel is Ambassador Drive, and the large road running southwest to northeast is Malden Road. |
