Notes: Postmarked 1942; "Block House, Bob-lo Island Park. This old historical land-mark was erected prior to the year 1835 and was used by the British soldiers during the rebellion of 1837-38. The date of its construction is not definitely known, but it stands to-day as it stood in pioneer days. It is also said to have sheltered many slaves while making a perilous escape from bondage in the South to Canada"; addressed to Mr. and Mrs. McKee |
