c. 1905; the Ariel of Detroit steamer is making its way to Belle Isle. The Ariel was built by the Detroit Dry Dock Company in 1881 for Hiram Walker and the Walkerville and Detroit Ferry Company. It was launched in 1882 and ran the Walkerville, Belle Isle, Detroit route.
