Jefferson Avenue (on postcard: 24 West Jefferson Avenue); designed by Harley, Ellington and Day, construction began in 1948 and was completed in 1950; above the north entrance is "Victory Eagle" sculpted by Marshall Fredericks; below the sculpture: "In honored memory of those who gave their lives for their country"; initially used for veterans' services and other city agency offices, the UAW leased the building from 1995 to 2014 and then purchased it; "The Veterans' Memorial Building in Detroit's Riverfront Civic Center is a living memorial dedicated by the citizens of Detroit to those who served their country";
