Postmarked 1909; the original 13-story Penobscot Building located at 131 West Fort Street in the Detroit Financial District; it is a brick and stone building built 1904-5; designed by Donaldson and Meier in the Beaux-Arts style and financed by Detroit businessman Simon J. Murphy Sr.; originally an office building, it now houses retail stores and services; the building should not to be confused with the better known 47-story Greater Penobscot Building located at 645 Griswold Street; addressed to Mr. Peter Tousignant, from Lizzie Tousignant; became part of the Penobscot Block.
