c. 1935; the cairn at the entrance of Memorial Park, Blenheim, Ontario, marks the treaty made by Alexander McKee on the 19th May, 1790, with the Chippewas, Ottawa, Pottawatomie and Huron Indians; on this day, much of current day Essex, Kent, Elgin and part of Middlesex counties were purchased for $4800.00 in trade goods; Blenheim is near the centre of the lands purchased.
