Notes:
This photo "was shot in the fall of 1953, from the airfield's new control tower. A blurred bit of the tower's outside railing is seen in the lower left corner of the image. The hangars were completed on 3 December 1953. The buildings seen in the distance, beyond the crane, are on the air base, RCAF Station North Bay. On the nearest hangar roof's left edge, below the crane, to right of the parked cars, you can see the top bit of a dark building--this was built by the British Royal Air Force during the Second World War, part of the special flying school it established at North Bay's airport." ( Doug Newman). From Richard Merlo: Sterling Construction Company was building a laminated wood hangar at North Bay airport; Sterling Construction Company built several hangars, the air traffic control tower, and also single and multiple housing in the area; no .tiff file available
